Field Service Technician

Kent, WA

Salary Range: $60,000-$100,000,
depending upon experience

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates are preferred, although not required, to have a bachelor’s degree or beyond.

Candidates should be proficient in the following skills:

  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, and program lighting control equipment 

  • Ability to work flexible shifts to adapt to construction work schedules [typical hours are 0700-1600, Monday-Friday] 

  • Familiarity with programming software and applications for commercial lighting controls systems 

  • Understanding of basic electricity and how to wire lighting controls in order to provide guidance for installers 

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and documents 

  • Must be punctual 

  • Experience with Bluebeam or other PDF markup tools 

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Technical degree or certifications 

  • Proven field service experience 

  • Experience with installation of commercial lighting controls 

JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:  

  • Provide programming and startup services for lighting control systems

  • Provide excellent customer support

  • Coordinate with and assist the installing contractors throughout the life of a project

  • Provide remote support and programming as required

  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine appropriate solutions

  • Produce prompt and detailed daily work logs

  • Cooperate and communicate with the Field Service Scheduler to manage schedule and appointments

  • Collaborate with PLS team members as needed to supply solutions for projects

  • Comprehend customer requirements and provide proper recommendations and solutions

  • Provide training for contractors, facilities maintenance, and end-users

  • Build positive relationships with customers

  • Some out of state travel for factory training required
